What is Autest
Autest records what you do on a website and turns it into a specification, a set of test cases, and a test run you can repeat automatically.
You do not write test code. You use the site the way you normally would, and Autest reads what happened, writes it up, and turns it into something you can run again and again.
What you can do
Section titled “What you can do”- Record what you do — your actions in the browser are captured as they happen
- Generate a specification — the role of each screen, its input fields and the expected results, written out from your recording
- Generate test cases — steps and expected results, built from the specification
- Run your tests — the test cases run automatically and the results are recorded
- Review the results — see where a test failed, alongside what the screen looked like
How it fits together
Section titled “How it fits together”- Register a product — the site you want to test
- Create a test plan — a group such as “sign-in to checkout”
- Record — carry out the steps you want to check
- Generate a specification — created automatically from the recording
- Generate test cases — created automatically from the specification
- Run them — the test cases run on their own
